Military Program
The Military Program provides San Diego youth from military affiliated families with the opportunity to engage in safe, positive, and fun outdoor activities.
Many parents have shared the difficulties their child faces with deployment or consistent displacement due to the nature of being a military family. They find that the Military Program allows their child to connect with other youth who are experiencing similar situations.
Through surfing in Coronado or rock climbing at Mission Trails, youth are able to create meaningful bonds that may last a lifetime. Outdoor Outreach has provided 107 outdoor recreation, education and environmental stewardship activities for more than 330 individual military youth since 2012.
PROGRAM DETAILS
From surfing beach breaks to exploring San Diego Bay by kayak, there are BIG ADVENTURES to be had in San Diego.
This summer, military-connected teens ages 12 – 17 of all ranks and services can ADVENTURE WITH US, exploring San Diego while creating friendships, building a community, and developing leadership skills for all of life’s adventures.
As Outdoor Outreach facilitates in-person programs, the health and wellness of our community is our priority. We have adapted our programs to local and state health guidelines as related to COVID-19. Face coverings must be worn through the duration of the program. As new updates are released we will continue to modify our practices, procedures and policies.

Camp includes:

- transportation to beaches and waterways

8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
LOCATION
Location will change daily. Outdoor Outreach provides optional transportation to/from Murphy Canyon, or Parents/Guardians can provide their own transportation to/from each day’s activity site .
Each day, we explore somewhere new. Surfing in Coronado, or exploring San Diego Bay by paddleboard and kayak… every day is a new adventure!
