Andrew Gottlieb shares his Outdoor Outreach story
Andrew Gottlieb is the founder and CEO of No Typical Moments. He first got his company involved with Outdoor Outreach when he took his team on a trip with Leadership Program participants in 2017. He said that the reason he continues to bring his team on quarterly Outdoor Outreach trips is because he saw how volunteering was a “bright spot” for not only his team, but the participants they worked with.
The words “youth empowerment” come to mind when Andrew thinks of Outdoor Outreach, as one of the things that attracted him to this organization is that we give a voice to at risk populations. At the closing of our chat with him, he urged the business community of San Diego to “consider bringing your staff on a volunteer trip. We do it once a quarter and I challenge any of the other businesses in the area to take their staff on at least one volunteer trip every year.”
Outdoor Outreach is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides adventure-based youth development programs serving 1,700 vulnerable and at-risk youth each year. Through those programs, we’re helping youth build resilience in the face of challenges, and confidence in their power to make a difference.
