Outdoor Outreach’s Joshua Tree Adventure is a chance for you
to step out of your comfort zone, learn to climb, camp,
hike, practice yoga….and most importantly change a youth's
life. Your participation in this event will help raise the
funds necessary to take at-risk and underprivileged youth
climbing, surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking and more,
helping them make positive, lasting changes in their lives.
The event will include 2 days of fully catered activities in
Joshua Tree National Park, including guided rock climbing
and a Saturday evening catered meal under the desert
moonlight. You choose your goals, set your challenges, and
help raise funds to send more youth to Outdoor Outreach's
programs! This is Outdoor Outreach’s signature fundraising
event, so please help us in our mission by registering,
creating a fundraising website, and sending out your
personal goals to everyone you know. We look forward to
seeing you out there!
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED:
JOIN THE PLANNING COMMITTEE!
We are still in need of volunteers to help out on the
planning committee and/or help out during the event. If you
are interested in helping out please email
julie@outdooroutreach.org. The next planning committee
meeting will be Tuesday, August 26th from 6:30-8:00.
REGISTER!
In order to attend the fundraiser, each participant will
need to set up an active.com fundraising site and raise a
minimum of $250 dollars. We have set up tiered incentives so
that prizes will be given to each individual fundraiser
based on the amount they raise. Prizes are cumulative;
therefore, if you raise $3,000 you will receive all prizes
listed below, not just an LG phone.
$250: An Outdoor Outreach T-shirt from Prana and entry to
the event.
$450: 1 day pass to Vertical Hold and 1 day pass to Ginseng
Yoga.
$850: A pair of Gramicci climbing pants.
$1,000: A back-pack from Gregory Packs.
$1,500: A pair of Evolve Climbing Shoes.
$2,000: A harness, belay device, and carabiner from Black
Diamond.
$3,000: An LG Phone.
Top Fundraiser Prizes: Sony 32" TV, Annual Pass to Vertical
Hold, and More!
Follow these directions to register for the event and setup
your fundraising page:
**Everyone attending the event must register.
Registering for the event automatically creates a
fundraising page, which you will then need to format. If you
are not attending the event but are interested in
fundraising for Outdoor Outreach there is a separate link
below that you can follow to create a fundraising page.
To REGISTER for the event
1.

2. Follow the instructions for registration. If you already
have an active.com
account, use that to login. If you do not already have an
active.com account you will be required to create a user
name and password.
3. Follow the instructions for registration. On page 4 you
will see a payment section. You do not
need to enter your information; there is no cost. Simply hit
the submit button.
4. Once registration is complete you will see a page that
will allow you to ‘view and print your receipt’. OO does not
need that info, but you can/should print it for your
personal reference.
5. Also on this page there will be a link that says
‘fundraiser center’. Click on this and you will be
redirected to your personal fundraising center where you can
format your fundraising page.
6. Once you are logged into your fundraising center, click
on “customize my webpage” to begin formatting your page. You
can upload your own image, write a personal message to your
family and friends, set your personal fundraising goals,
change color scheme, etc. Make the page your own-have fun
with it!
7. Email supporters. Send emails to your friends and family
asking them to contribute to your fundraising goals. You can
add a personal message to the emails and track donations
through your fundraising center.
8. For tips on customizing your page, sending emails,
tracking donations, and fundraising tips, click on the
"Fundraising Tips" tab in your Fundraising Center.
To create a fundraising page (if you are NOT attending
the event)
1. visit

2. click on the link that says “to login to your fundraising
page CLICK HERE
3. Follow steps 7&8 from above.
Registration Logistics:
Individuals raise at least $250
Teams (ie. couples, families, etc.) raise at least $250 per
individual member of the team.
Once you have registered you will receive an email with
event details and a phone call from one of our staff members
to discuss event details and answer any questions you might
have about the event.
